SWAB-ID (The Netherlands)

SWAB-ID: The National Antimicrobial Guide for the Netherlands

SWAB-ID is a nationwide network of antimicrobial treatment guidelines used by hospitals and healthcare professionals across the Netherlands. Originally launched in 2006, the platform provides free, unlimited access to up-to-date, evidence-based guidance for the therapy and prophylaxis of common infectious diseases.

The platform brilliantly combines national recommendations developed by SWAB (The Dutch Working Party on Antibiotic Policy) with local hospital adaptations. This ensures that hospitals throughout the Netherlands can use localized versions of SWAB-ID, specifically tailored to their own antimicrobial policies and formularies.

Key Highlights:

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Aggregates knowledge on antimicrobial treatments and properties, based on national guidelines and data from leading Dutch medical training centers.
  • Targeted Guidelines: Features dedicated, specialized sections for both Adult and Pediatric care.
  • Always Up-to-Date: The medical content is updated annually to reflect the latest scientific standards and clinical practices.

Our Contribution: Powered by the Antibiotica.app framework, we have been proudly supporting SWAB-ID 3.0 since 2019. We provide the robust technological foundation that allows healthcare professionals across the Netherlands to access these critical guidelines seamlessly, anywhere and anytime.
